Hamish visited for a 'comfort break' on his way to The Grey Mare's Tail and then St Mary's Loch . He only walked about 0.5 a mile so did not explore either of the marked out routes or ad hoc options.
The routes start from a small car park with a picnic table (NT 1232 0591) off the A708 Moffat to Selkirk road. The B&B opposite the gate has Peacocks! The routes appear to be on well-defined tracks - near to the car park at least. There were no stiles on the section Hamish walked (the start goes through a gate - if this were locked shut one would need to use a stile but there is plenty of space through the post and rail fence).
