Lottie visited Exmouth on a rather blustery day in June as part of a family outing. We travelled from Exeter by train to see the attractive coastal views over the River Ex and explored the coast around the town and the marina. There were some areas around The Point ( a recreation area) off The Royal Avenue where Lottie was able to be off the lead and we noted some dogs on the beach area enjoying a run. We basically followed the coast round to a small car park at the south of The Point and then went more inland via Shelley Reach to get to the marina. This appears to be in the midst of a major re-development and was a interesting place to spend some time. We had a coffee inside a dog friendly bistro at the marina. We then followed the coast via the Esplanade, then crossed the road by the Premier Inn and took The Beacon (combined path / cycle route0 back into the town. The walking was generally level, our group included a more senior member who uses a walking stick who easily got round our route. Those wanting a longer walk can follow the coastal cycle route and catch a train at Lympstone or Exton or even walk all the way back to Exeter.
