Dog friendly articles and ideas
Tia and her people walked this route with our directors during a stay at The Mortal Man, a great dog friendly place to eat. We started from the main public car park on the A592 road. From there we walked along the road and into Hartsop village, passing through a smaller car park en-route to The Knott. From there we walked High Street via Straits of Riggindale. We descended steeply from Thornthwaite Beacon, then down through Threshthwaite Cove and Pasture Bottom.
We enjoyed bright sunshine for a while on the way up but soon reached the cloud level when we then endured wind and rain in low visibility and walked through snow. If you have similar conditions our GPS trail might be useful.
If you would like to receive by e mail a free GPX file (track converted from the trail we walked) produced by our Satmap Active 10 GPS please contact us, quoting GPX High St 1. Please note this file is for personal use only and must not be further reproduced without our explicit permission. Those wishing to use the file commercially should make their intentions clear when contacting us. Please note we can not guarantee this file will work successfully on any other GPS or that the data might not be corrupted in transfer but we are confident, in most cases when it is loaded into a robust GPS, it will greatly assist navigation.
