DogPeople Says : The Bowl Inn

Lottie and Murphy visited for lunch in August 2014. We had parked in the car park a bit earlier and been for a 4 mile circular walk (see walks directory) in very pleasant Kent countryside. Our dogs noted but did not use a dog water bowl by the pub entrance. We all received a friendly welcome and the dogs were pleased to lie down by our table beside the Inglenook fireplace. Being Sunday the main meals of the day were roast dinners, we wanted something lighter so chose starters of deep fried whitebait and brie which were accompanied by a side salad and supplemented (at our request) by a warm baguette between us. The brie came with a very tasty pot of chutney; we later found this had been homemade by chef. There was a good range of beers and cider including one director’s favourite Fullers London Pride and Aspall’s cider. Lottie and Murphy were pleased to find several other dog guests including a spaniel and to be introduced to ‘Rocky’, an English Bulldog. We all enjoyed our visit to The Bowl Inn and will to go back for another walk and a more substantial meal. For those wanting to stay a little longer the inn has B&B accommodation and dogs are welcome in the ground floor bedroom.
