Lottie visited The Blue Ball Inn in September 2013 with the lady director. Although it was a weekday afternoon there were at least 7 other dogs in the bar and restaurant, all were well behaved. The bar had real ales and three draft ciders including Thatcher’s Heritage and Devon Red. For lunch I choose Beer Battered Cod, Mushy Peas, Chips and Homemade Tartar Sauce from the main menu. This arrived after just a short wait and was delicious. This historic inn with its thick walls provided a welcome break as we had been on a long tour around Exmoor and the weather was starting to deteriorate when we arrived. If you want to stay the night there are dog friendly bedrooms and a range of good walks both inland and on the South West Coast path available from the inn.
