DogPeople Says : The Lamb Inn

Lottie stayed for a couple of nights in August 2016. The first impression when walking through the front door is of high quality accommodation in a fabulous old coaching inn. Our welcome at reception was friendly and Lottie was offered a biscuit and some water. We were shown to 'Rosie' a comfortable ground floor room at the rear of the hotel with its own enclosed private garden. The room was fairly compact but beautifully furnished with quality bed linen, Moulton Brown toiletries, tasty hand-made flapjacks and a useful dog bowl for Lottie. The Lamb Inn welcomes dogs in both the bar and also the main garden which had dedicated staff on our second evening to serve the tables. The bar menu offers a choice of meals topped up by a daily specials board, the braised lamb with mash & seasonal vegetables, braised belly pork and lemon posset were very tasty. The usual range of drinks is available at the bar, draft drinks included Symonds cider and Hooky a golden beer from Wiltshire. Breakfast can be taken with your dog at table set up in the lounge (arrange this the night before with reception) which Lottie enjoyed as she was rather spoilt with a large bowl of dog biscuits. The Lamb Inn is a good base to explore Burford and the Cotswolds from. There are several other good dog friendly pubs / hotels in the town and dog friendly Cotswold Wildlife Park (see entry in Oxfordshire Days Out directory) is just a short drive away. We met a number of staff during our stay and found them all friendly, professional and helpful. Thanks Bill and staff for a great stay.
