It is part of the Tennyson Heritage Coast, a series of linked cliff-top monuments. A later lighthouse and several monuments can be seen nearby. Maintained and managed by The National Trust. East of Blackgang roundabout, off A3055 (OS Map 196; ref SZ 494773).
1.25 miles South West of Newport (OS Map 196; ref SZ 486877). Tea room. Access via Donkey Centre. Benches and picnic tables. Parking 50m from entrance, up steep hill.
There is a waterbus link to Hurst Castle (Hampshire). Coach and car park 200 yards. In Yarmouth adjacent to car ferry terminal (OS Map 196; ref SZ 354898).
