High Street, Pitlochry on the A924. The northernmost house.
This modest cottage is possibly the oldest house in Pitlochry. Sunnybrae Cottage is a rare survival of a type of house that was once very common in the Highlands, remarkably it still has the remains of a cruck framed roof construction, with most of its last thatch still surviving beneath the later corrugated iron roof. The cottage is currently undergoing careful recording and investigation. Access is restricted to exterior views during initial development work to prepare the property for visitors.
Visit Historic Scotland's website for details.
Dogs are permitted in the grounds if kept on a leash. They are not permitted in roofed buildings. Owners are asked to be sensitive to the effect of their dogs on others, esepcially children. Poop scoops are available from the steward at staffed sites. Please clear up after your dog.
