Lottie visited Stott Park Bobbin Mill in June 2013. We had an interesting tour finding out just what an important industry this had been in the local area. Lottie was welcomed and enjoyed exploring the different sights and smells but not so keen on the noisy machines towards the end of the tour. The mill is set in an attractive location which we only briefly explored because it was a very wet day, in better weather it would have been a good place to have a picnic.

1.5 miles North of Newby Bridge off the A590 .OS 96/97,OL7: SD372881 Close to the popular walk of High Dam and Stott Park Heights from where you have lovely views of Windermere. Water bowl always available
Industrial Museum and working mill In a lovely wooded setting, near Lake Windermere, Stott Park is one of English Heritage’s most unusual and fascinating attractions. There is perhaps nowhere in the country where the Industrial Revolution is more vividly brought to life with the original working machinery demonstrated throughout the day.
