DogPeople Says : Mount Ephraim Gardens

Hamish visited on 27/04/03 together with approximately 30 other Airedale Terriers and their people. The occasion – a meeting and fun walk for the Kent Pet Airedale Club. Hamish had a super afternoon’s visit. The gardens and orchards were full of scents and floral sights. There are seats and a tearoom for humans and plenty of space and shade for canines. Mount Ephraim is on a high point and there are superb views over the gardens, across the nearby countryside and further afield across the Swale and Thames estuaries. For sporting people there is the added attraction of village cricket matches played adjacent to the gardens. There is also a shop selling locally produced crafts and preserves. Sandys and Lesley Dawes were very welcoming and provided three large water bowls for the Airedales and delicious cream teas for the people on the terrace by the main house. Plenty of other canine visitors were in evidence including a Saluki, Retriever and GSD cross. A great, dog friendly spot well worth a visit.
