The chapel of St Mary was founded by John Kennedy of Dunure in 1371 and the associated college 11 years later. Its function was to allow prayers to be said for the founder and his family.

Dog Restrictions:
Dogs are permitted in the grounds if kept on a leash. They are not permitted in roofed buildings. Owners are asked to be sensitive to the effect of their dogs on others, esepcially children. Poop scoops are available from the steward at staffed sites. Please clear up after your dog.
