A fine example of a motte castle, in a part of Scotland where this type of early timber castle proliferated in the 12th and 13th centuries. A very steep climb.

Dogs are permitted in the grounds if kept on a leash. They are not permitted in roofed buildings. Owners are asked to be sensitive to the effect of their dogs on others, esepcially children. Poop scoops are available from the steward at staffed sites. Please clear up after your dog.
