In Doune, 16 km North West of Stirling off the A84. Grid reference NN 725 014.
Built for the Regent Albany, Doune Castle is a magnificent late 14th century courtyard castle. Its most striking feature is the 100ft high gatehouse which includes the splendid Lord's Hall with its musicians' gallery, double fireplace and carved oak screen.

Dogs are permitted in the grounds if kept on a leash. They are not permitted in roofed buildings. Owners are asked to be sensitive to the effect of their dogs on others, esepcially children. Poop scoops are available from the steward at staffed sites. Please clear up after your dog.
