In its day the abbey was a famous house of Augustinian canons, the scene of Robert Bruce’s Parliament in 1326, and burial place of James III and his Queen. The fine detached tower is the only substantial survivor, but extensive foundations remain of the other buildings. View exterior only.

Dog Restrictions:
Dogs are permitted in the grounds if kept on a leash. They are not permitted in roofed buildings. Owners are asked to be sensitive to the effect of their dogs on others, esepcially children. Poop scoops are available from the steward at staffed sites. Please clear up after your dog.
