Key Info:
19 km West of Stornoway off the A859, Isle of Lewis. Grid reference NB 213 330. Parking available 300 metres from the stones. There is a relief model of the site outside the visitor centre and there is a video presentation in Gaelic and English.

Description:
A cross-shaped setting of standing stones erected around 3000 BC. The visitor centre at Calanais is managed by the Urras nan Tursachan.

Dog Restrictions:
Dogs are permitted in the grounds if kept on a leash. They are not permitted in roofed buildings. Owners are asked to be sensitive to the effect of their dogs on others, esepcially children. Poop scoops are available from the steward at staffed sites. Please clear up after your dog.
