Hamish visited Borde Hill in April 2005. On arrival he accompanied his people to the tea garden (as dogs are not allowed in the tea room), his people had tea and cakes and Hamish had a drink from the garden dog water bowl. The tea room and tea garden are adjacent to the car park which means you can take refreshments without visiting the main garden if your time is limited. Hamish took a leisurely tour of the gardens that had a splendid display of spring foliage including Rhododendrons and Camellias. He particularly enjoyed the scents in the ‘Round Dell’ and seeing a black and white cat near to West Garden Lodge! He also tried out some of the woodland walks and nearby public footpaths. Borde Hill Garden is ideal for short and long visits. There are plenty of seats and shady spots. On clear days there are good long distance views to The Ashdown Forest and South Downs. There are useful litter bins in the car park and inside the garden near the entrance shop (where there is another dog water bowl). There is a very well equipped playground (dogs not allowed) for younger family members
