Do you treat yourself enough? If not Hopton House should be on your list of things to try … if you already treat yourself add Hopton House to your schedule. Hamish stayed for a couple of nights in December 2006. Everything was ‘just so’ – quality in every regard. Karen, our host, does everything to the highest standards and has a keen understanding of customer needs (she runs training events for those new to B&Bs and, on the evidence of our stay, must provide very valuable advice). Our room was fantastic – spacious and beautifully furnished / equipped; breakfasts were superb (cooked to order with the best local produce… sausages and bacon exceptional and the fruit softie a welcome surprise); our evening meals (order in advance) were delicious and huge; and our hosts (including Mitsi and Murphy the resident dogs) very welcoming. We found a good walk from the door – plenty of other walking advice available if you need it. The house has its own large enclosed garden where visiting dogs are welcome (as long as they don’t chase the chickens!). There is so much more we could write – because this was a thoroughly enjoyable experience – but there would be too much to read. Get in touch with us if you need to know more; we are confident Karen will have thought about any need you might have … and even if she hasn’t she’ll do her best to find a solution for you.

DogPeople Says : Hopton House B&B
In a beautiful rural location, Hopton House, voted West Midlands B&B of the year in 2007, provides a little luxury for well behaved dogs and their owners. There are lots of local walks – including an 8 mile circular walk from the house with no stiles and off lead walking in the woods. We have 2 friendly rescue dogs, Mitsi and Murphy, who welcome most other dogs to share their bit of paradise. Dog bowls provided.
Areas dogs welcome:
Dogs are welcome in our new spacious downstairs barn room. It is in a separate building from the main house and has wooden floors, a large en-suite wet room and direct access into the garden. The garden is large and fully enclosed.
Areas dogs not welcome:
I’m sorry but no dogs in the dining room ( we will waive this rule if no other guests are staying ) or the main house because of our own dogs. Our hens are very free range and family pets so any potential chicken chasers must be kept on lead. Other dogs are free to wander the garden. Please no puppies ( Mitsi doesn’t like puppies ) or dogs likely to be aggressive to Mitsi and Murphy or our other guests.
Number & type of rooms:
We allow dogs in the downstairs barn room. The barn has a super king size bed which can be split into twins and is accessible for wheelchair users. We have 2 other rooms if you’re coming away with friends or family who don’t own dogs. Both en-suite with showers and baths. One with balcony and super kingsize bed.
Lots of free car parking. Evening Meal or Light Supper available. Please do look at our website for our complete Hopton House Guest Dog Guide and full details of our B&B as it’s impossible to describe everything we have to offer on one page!
