Hamish and his people visited for a meal in June 2009. Dogs were clearly welcome and Hamish met at least two other dogs. The bar areas were spacious with lots of tables to choose from. There was an excellent selection of real ales (including a mild and at least three bitters) and other drinks. Food options were plentiful too – with both a specials board and standard menu. We chose poached salmon with a parsley and butter sauce and chicken in a tarragon and cream sauce. Both came with new potatoes and a fine selection of vegetables. All was excellent – including the size of portions (one would have to have had an energetic day to justify a second course). Hamish was given his own treat – and helped with potatoes and carrots at the end of our meal. Very welcoming, good food and beer – well worth a visit.
