  1. Dog friendly walk in Kent in aid of Ellenor

Emma at Ellenor recently contacted us about a special Winter Walk being held on December 17th near Cobham, Kent. Ellenor is the operating name of Ellenor Lions Hospices a charity registered in England and Wales that aims to provide the best care and support for families facing terminal illness. The charity provides support to people living in North and West Kent. The Winter Walk event is run annually by the Ellenor events team as part of fund raising activities. Emma tells us that the walk has grown in popularity over the last few years and includes participants ‘many of whom are dog walkers as Jeskyn’s is a beautiful dog friendly site – it even has it’s own doggy lake (although it might be a bit cold in December!)’. Details provided by Emma are below:

I wanted to get in touch, to let you know about an festive family walk we are organising to raise money for local families facing terminal illness. This 5km walk is open to all the family, including the family dog who comes along for FREE!

I would be most grateful if you could share this event as appropriate.

    Sunday 17 December at 10am
    Jeskyns Community Woodland, Cobham, Kent.

This beautiful 5km walk is one for all the family, yes – including the dog, and is guaranteed to raise your Christmas cheer and make more of those important family memories.

The course will be a mixture of gravel and grass surfaced paths and will be signed throughout, with marshals at every 1km marker. There will also be refreshments on route with mince pies and a drink on completion and if that isn’t already enough to get you feeling festive, all walkers will also receive a free Santa Hat!

Registration is just £10 per adult, £5 per child and £25 for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children).

To find out more and to book your place please see our website

    Many thanks in advance.

    Best wishes,

The Winter Walk looks like a good day out for all the family and dog to get fit and raise some money for a good cause. If you can’t make the walk date there are other good dog and family friendly walks nearby at Shorne Woods Country Park.
