  1. Find a dog friendly hotel in the UK

Autumn has arrived and it’s a great time of year to plan a dog friendly holiday or short break with your dog. Our dog friendly hotels directory offers something for most budgets with pet friendly hotels in towns and countryside locations. There are pet friendly hotels on offer in England, Scotland or Wales.  Some of the hotels offer extra facilities for your dog such as dog beds, towels, feeding bowls or treats. It is also helpful to take your dogs own blanket and favourite toy to help settle them in for a good nights sleep. If you are looking for some ideas of where to go then I’ve picked out a few hotels below.

At the Coul House Hotelin Northern Scotland dogs are welcome in all of the bedrooms and public areas with the exception of the restaurant.  Arrangements can be made to accommodate pets in private areas to dine. We can vouch for this as we visited Coul House Hotel back in 2006 for an evening meal  with our then Airedale Terrier ‘Hamish’. The hotel set us up a dog friendly table and served fantastic food and we went back for another meal a few days later! The hotel has large grounds and there is plenty of highland countryside on the doorstep for dog friendly walks (see walks in the Northern Scotland section).

Tread in the footsteps of a famous dog at the Huddersfield Central Lodge in Yorkshire. This family run hotel welcomed the Crufts Best in Show 2016 Winner ‘Devon’, a West Highland White Terrier to stay at the hotel with her owner Miss Marie Burns. The hotel welcomes dogs in most areas including the conservatory where owners can take breakfast with their dogs. The award winning full English breakfast is prepared using locally sourced Yorkshire products.
