Lottie and Murphy visited The Queen’s Head in Boughton under Blean, Kent today together with a  group of walking friends after doing a 6 mile country walk. The Queen’s is one of our favourite  dog friendly pubs in Kent because it’s local but mainly because David the chef (and landlord) serves superb food. He did not disappoint today and we enjoyed a selection of dishes from the new set lunch menu (available Tuesday to Friday 12 noon to 4pm) including wontons (starter) duck confit; scampi & chips and duck salad (mains) treacle tart and creme brulee (sweets). The set lunch menu is excellent value with 2 courses for £10.50 and 3 courses £12.50.

If you are planning a day out to north Kent then Canterbury and Whitstable are around 7 miles from The Queen’s Head. Mount Ephraim Gardens (dog friendly) are about 1 mile away and there are a selection of nearby walks in our Walks and beaches directory for Kent including several that start and finish in Boughton under Blean.
