  1. Dog friendly walk revised

Lottie and Murphy … and their people … re-walked one of the routes in our dog friendly walks and beaches directory.  Doing so emphasised the importance of understanding things change over time – and, as a result, we can’t guarantee the exact accuracy of details provided.  We walked the 8 miler from Boughton Under Blean via Old Wives Lees.  Although the changes since we last walked weren’t many a couple were fairly significant.  For example a prominent communication mast had vanished and a tree line enclosing a path had been grubbed out.  None-the-less we think folk would have found their way.  We hope the revised details are even clearer!

This route has a mix of quiet lanes and footpaths, mostly through orchards or woods.  Lottie was off lead much of the time (she probably covered 10 miles), Murphy, because of his desire to follow scents wherever they take him, was off lead a little less (but possibly walked and ran 12 to 15 miles).  He had a brilliant time in the woods especially – and did come back every time (when he was ready; luckily he tracks us by a whistle and will find his way even when not seen for ten minutes or more!).  They really enjoyed running together.  We enjoyed it too; bluebells were just coming into bloom, there were some good views and we passed some fine old Kentish buildings.

Another chance to visit The Queen’s Head was a bonus for us all.  See other Kentish dog friendly pubs here.
