  1. The Castle Hotel – dog friendly place to eat

The Castle Hotel at Bishops Castle in Shropshire has been added to our dog friendly pubs and places to eat directory. Open from 8am to 11pm every day you can take breakfast, lunch or dinner accompanied by your dog in the hotel’s bar. A full range of British food is available at different times so whether you want just a sandwich and pint at lunchtime or a full meal after a long day’s walking with your canine companion The Castle will be ideal. Talking of walking, Bishop’s Castle offers a fantastic array of options in the beautiful Shropshire countryside; a great location for walks from the door or as a base for a wider selection. One of the directors had an overnight stay here some years ago on a three day walking trip from Knighton to Church Stretton via Clun (for the first night stop). What a wonderful way to see this England and Wales borders countryside and way of life – and the dogs will love it too.

If you’re thinking of a holiday with your dog in the area or a long weekend break (the hotel accommodation is dog friendly too!) you might be interested in visiting our dog friendly pubs and food page for The Midlands and, maybe, our days out for dog owners page (the director’s group walked part of Offa’s Dyke and visited Clun Castle too).
