  1. New Map View Implemented for Dog Friendly Advertisers

We have introduced a new map view to help our visitors better find  holidays and days out with their dogs.  There are several ways to access the maps with links on our left hand side bar and in many directory pages.  The new facility allows responsible dog owners to see advertisers’ locations by directory type (but advertisers with more than one entry – for example a hotel with  bar or other eating area that allows dogs – will only have one ‘pin’).  The maps allow different combinations of directory type to be displayed – or just one if that’s all you need (choose from attractions [days out], bed and breakfasts [guest houses and other B&Bs], holiday parks, pubs and food , hotels and self catering holidays [dog friendly holiday cottages, lodges, villas, caravans etc.] – all of which will be pleased to welcome you and your dog).  Visitors can ‘zoom’ the maps to see wide or detailed locations depending on how far they want to take their dog on holiday or a day out.

The new system allows individual advertiser’s information to be displayed by clicking on their ‘pin’. Of course visitors can return to our traditional list format at any time; this shows a wider selection of holiday options by directory type and allows more detail about several advertisers to be seen at once.  Our directories remain targeted at the information we believe responsible dog owners need to make the best of their leisure time with their canine best friends – and we know is often missing from some websites and holiday accommodation guides.   So far, only customers in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland who have provided us with postcodes are included in the mapping system.  Non UK advertisers in Europe who welcome dogs will be added if they choose and can provide an accurate location for their pin.
