  1. Lottie stays at Sheriff Lodge

Lottie’s first ever Dogpeople night away was spent at Sheriff Lodge in Matlock, Derbyshire (The Peak District).  She, and we enjoyed ourselves at this dog friendly B&B guesthouse– see what we found by clicking on the Dogpeople Says image in their directory entry or read it below.

This was Lottie’s first ever stay in June 2012 for Dogpeople. We stayed in The Warren, a basement room with access direct to the grounds (ideal for last thing in the evening and first thing in the morning walks). The Warren has a double and single bedroom as well as a shower room. The whole was very comfortable and quiet when we stayed. We were greeted by Kate; she made sure we had tea and cakes in the guests lounge when we’d unpacked (very welcome after a lengthy drive!). Kate and Alan cooked breakfast – an extensive choice superbly cooked using top quality ingredients. Jo had Eggs Benedict (excellent) and (our) Alan had poached egg on a Derbyshire oat cake, bacon, sausage and mushrooms, (there was lots more that could have been chosen too!). Everything was great but the bacon was worthy of special mention as were the mushrooms that were full of flavour. All of this was preceded by fruit juice and an excellent selection of cereals, fresh fruits and yoghurts … and Alan’s home made bread. We are sure Lottie was as impressed as we were. The only thing to be careful of is the steps leading up to the garden from The Warren. These are very steep and would not be suitable for an old dog; everything else was great!
