Tia walked Victory Woods for us recently. This Woodland Trust site commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar and includes open hillside, newly planted trees (2005) and a section of mature woods. There are plenty of dog friendly options (no stiles in open area) – but be sure to climb the ridge to enjoy fabulous views.
Murphy has since become a regular visitor to Victory Wood. This is a popular dog walking spot and you are bound to meet other canine pals on most days. Part of the area often has sheep. Even though there is clear signage warning which area they are in some care needs to be taken with you dog to ensure they are not disturbed.
Views from the top of the ridge are well worth the short climb – the Thames Estuary and Isle of Sheppey to the north and west and Blean Woods and the Canterbury road on the south and east.
