  1. Hexham Old Gaol joins as a dog friendly attraction

Dogpeople Limited are delighted to welcome Hexham Old Gaol, Hexham, Northumberland as a new dog friendly attraction for a day out with the family and your dog.  Hamish visited during his recent trip to the north of England.  He and his people were impressed by the building, displays, information boards and the very friendly people.  This was a thoroughly positive place to visit (which is more than most of the building’s former ‘guests’ would have thought).  Both we and Hamish were pleased to have an indoor attraction to get out of the cold and wet – this was a rather miserable April week!

This is apparently the earliest recorded gaol in England. Take your dog to see the dungeon, stocks and crime & punishment exhibits. Meet the Border Reivers who were English and Scottish raiders in the 1500s. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
