Dogpeople Says 

Obviously, we can’t hope to visit all the businesses on this site.  We do intend to use a network of researchers to visit a selection.  They will be paying customers and, as far as possible, won’t reveal their identity in advance.  This provides first hand experience of the “dog friendliness” of our advertisers and gives the advertiser business.

After our visit we will add a short note of our findings linked to the directory. It will normally say something about the dog whose people sampled the advertiser’s service as well as something about what was found.  The note will be linked via the above symbol.
