09/05/2008 - English Springer Spaniel - fundraising
The Lincoln English Springer Spaniel Sanctuary is holding it's 8th Companion Dog Show to raise much needed funds. Registration will begin at 10am with an entry fee of £1 per class.

09/05/2008 - 4 Island Road, St Ives.
One of our Cornish dog friendly advertisers has changed properties and now advertises 4 Island Road, St Ives.  The latest advert has photos to support the normal directory narrative.  The holiday accommodation, in a fisherman's cottage, is suitable for up to six people and a well behaved dog.
09/05/2008 - The Forest Inn Dartmoor joins
Dogpeople Limited are delighted to welcome The Forest Inn, Hexworthy, Dartmoor (Devon) as a new dog friendly advertiser.  They have adverts in our dog friendly pubs and places to eat directory and in our B&B / Guest House directoty.  Your dog will be welcome whether just for a meal and drink after a walk  - lots of dog friendly options available nearby - or whether you want to stay a while.  Dog grooming is also available - but has to be be booked in advance - and so too is residential dog training.  A very doggy place!
08/05/2008 - Robeanne House East Yorkshire joins
Dogpeople Ltd are delighted to welcome a new dog friendly B&B to the site. Robeanne House, Market Weighton near Beverley has 7 en-suite bedrooms where dogs can stay with their owners.  Bedrooms are located either in the main house or in luxury log cabins in the extensive gardens.

02/05/2008 - The Old Cider House, Nether Stowey latest to add photos.

The Old Cider House, Nether Stowey, near Bridgwater in Somerset is the latest customer to add photos to their dog friendly advert.  This B&B has a resident dog and canine companions are welcome to join their people for a stay.

Dogpeople Ltd are delighted to welcome a new dog friendly self catering customer to the site. Spring Cottage near Wellington, Somerset  is a comfortable home from home and ideally placed for dog walking along the Blackdown Hills. It has it's own fenced garden as well as access to the owner's 4 acre garden.

Dogpeople Limited are delighted to welcome Gorwel/Ty Castell, Cemaes Bay on Anglesey as a new dog friendly self catering advertiser.  These two cottages sleep 6 between them and make a great holiday destination for people and dogs alike.
25/04/2008 - Colwyn Guest House, Beddgelert, Gwynedd joins
Dogpeople Limited are delighted to welcome Colwyn Guest House, Beddgelert, Gwynedd in Snowdonia (North Wales) as a new dog friendly B&B advertiser.  Hamish visited Beddgelert a couple of times in his youth.  This is beautiful spot with special resonance for dog lovers as the village is named after the grave of a brave dog named Gelert.  We visited the spot where poor Gelert is said to have been laid to rest after his valiant effort in protecting the family and read the sad story of his demise.  Regardless of this the village is a great base for walking, whether you want to tackle a serious mountain or follow the river and old railway line for a more gentle stroll.

23/04/2008 - Heritage Hamish
Hamish has been finding out about the Roman occupation of Britain, Hadrians Wall and history around the english and scottish borders in Northumberland and Cumbria. During his recent trip north Hamish has visited dog friendly properties under the care of English Heritage. Find out about his visits to Prudhoe Castle, Housesteads Roman Fort, Chesters Roman Fort and Birdoswald Fort by clicking on his picture in the directory entries.
23/04/2008 - Northumberland walks
Hamish has been busy finding dog friendly walks in Northumberland. During a recent stay in Haydon Bridge he did a 4 mile circular route starting in the village. He has also accompanied his people on two other walks, a 4 mile route in the Northumberland National Park which uses a short section of The Pennine Way and a 1 mile walk to visit the ruins of Thirwell Castle.
23/04/2008 - Hamish visits Stanhope, Co Durham
Hamish has been on his travels again. This time he went north where he enjoyed a stay at Burnside Brace Guest House in Stanhope, Co Durham. Read the DP Says to find out about his visit to this dog friendly and comfortable B&B, where dogs are made very welcome.  Hamish also did some circular walks which start from the guest house up the adjacent Stanhope Burn. The routes have been added to our walks directory , a short route of about 1.5 miles and the other about 4.5 miles. Both walks can also be started in the nearby village centre.
22/04/2008 - Helsbury Park Photo Competition winner.
Helsbury Park (a dog friendly self catering advertiser in Cornwall) have announced the winner of their latest dog photo competition.  In their news release they say  "Helsbury Park, Cornwall UK: Helsbury Park today announced the winner of its annual dog photography competition. Murray, an 18-month old Great Dane came out on top with an unusual composition, ‘Dog and Pasty’." See the photo in our gallery via this link.
22/04/2008 - E Mail problems resolved.
It appears the server issues affecting our e mail have been resolved.  We are very sorry for any inconvenience these caused.  Please get in touch if you still haven't had a response from us (contact us)
21/04/2008 - Problems with E Mail
We are aware there is a problem with our web-host's e mail server.  This is providing patchy service with most of our incoming e mails being rejected or stuck on the server.  We are unable to send e mail via company e mail accounts.  Our technical partner's clients are all suffering this problem and they are working with the host company to resolve the issue as fast as possible.  We are pleased to say the site is unaffected at present so e mails sent throught it should still reach advertisers.  We are very sorry if you have e mailed us but not yet received a reply - contingency alternatives are in hand.
21/04/2008 - General Havelock Inn, Haydon Bridge joins
Dogpeople Limited are delighted to welcome General Havelock Inn, Haydon Bridge near Hexham in Northumberland as a new dog friendly place to eat.  Hamish visited and his people had an excellent meal during a recent trip to the north of England (including several dog friendly visits to Hadrian's Wall sites).  The inn has a restaurant area where only guide dogs are welcome but the full range of meals can be enjoyed in the company of your dog in the bar area.  Real ale fans will find a local guest beer and there's a full range of other drinks too.  At the back of the inn there's a riverside terrace and, beyond that, a short riverside walk (Hamish took this route several times for his all important comfort breaks before going inside - bins in the village).
21/04/2008 - Hexham Old Gaol joins
Dogpeople Limited are delighted to welcome Hexham Old Gaol, Hexham, Northumberland as a new dog friendly attraction.  Hamish visited during his recent trip to the north of England.  He and his people were impressed by the building, displays, information boards and the very friendly people.  This was a thoroughly positive place to visit (which is more than most of the building's former 'guests' would have thought).  People and dog were pleased to have an indoor attraction to get out of the cold and wet - this was a rather miserable April week!

Dogpeople Limited are delighted to welcome The Cross Keys Hotel  a new dog friendly establishment in New Galloway, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. They have a traditional bar and excellant restaurant. This is an ideal base to explore this beautiful area.

Dogpeople Limited are delighted to welcome Calamansac  new dog friendly self catering properties in Port Navas, Cornwall, who are part of Cornish Holiday Cottages. These 3 properties are situated on Calamansac Estate forming the western headland of Port Navas Creek overlooking the Helford River. The houses stand in 50 acres of meadow garden and woodland. The woods drop down to Port Navas Creek to the East and Helford River to the South and West.
